This review is long overdue. In 1968 I fell in a hole about 12’ deep in Vietnam and landed badly. I apparently knocked L2 3 and 4 out of alignment, damaged T12 and over time S1 deteriorated I think. In August 2023 at 75 years old I finally drastically needed it fixed. Dr Brown did a two day surgery on me, the recovery was very difficult, I was happy at the time that I wasn’t paralyzed, however, if that was the outcome without pain I would’ve been okay with that.

I have like 20 screws, 6 spacers I think and two rods in my lumbar area, a fix at S1 and T12.

Not only was the pain gone, I could walk and now I am back to playing golf.

Dr Brown has changed my life.

Dr. Brown went above and beyond to courageously perform a very risky surgery on me in 2021 that other surgeons won’t touch. He certainly could have stayed in his comfort zone, but thanks to his bravery and innovation, my massive CSF leak was expertly sealed, and my life was literally saved. Referral was written off so rudely and carelessly just to look at a spine. No other major health concerns, emergency or surgery needed and was denied for just a visual/conversation. Insurance not the issue. No explanation for denial other than Dr. Brown doesn’t want to make an appt “after reviewing the file.” Would absolutely not recommend Dr. Brown since apparently he’s incredibly selective with preferences of who he’ll see based on whatever demographics your MyChart reflects.
