I am a retired dentist who had my own practice in Cary, NC for 30 years. I first saw another surgeon at Duke Medical Center who accomplished laparoscopic surgery for me on two inguinal hernias. This first surgeon placed mesh over the two inguinal hernias which folded over thus leaving the hernias incompletely covered. I suffered significant pain, so I consulted a medical colleague in Cary who is the most respected plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the area. He recommended Dr. Watters because they trained together at Duke in a surgical residency program. The plastic surgeon is talented beyond belief, but he told me that Dr. Watters was the most naturally gifted surgeon he had ever seen. Dr. Watters then repaired two of the three areas which the first surgeon at Duke Medical Center accomplished for me. Dr. Watters also just completed an epigastric hernia repair for me which I believe was unrelated to the poor job the first surgeon accomplished. I have had zero problems with the surgeries which Dr. Watters has accomplished for me. Dr. Watters is one of the most clinically competent surgeons you will ever find. He is also humble, answers your questions fully, and runs a very nice office. Dr. Watters is a consummate professional who is a tremendous asset to his community. I will caution all surgical patients about the likelihood of having a surgery at “Big Duke” AKA Duke Medical Center because they involve the use of residents in training during their surgeries. A resident(s) may have been responsible for the very poor results I had with my initial laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgeries at DUMC. Since then, I have seen Dr. Watters three separate times at Duke Raleigh. Because of my botched surgery at Duke Medical Center, one of his nurses told me that I could ask Dr. Watters not to have a surgical resident participate in my care. As a result, I have had exceptional surgical outcomes with Dr. Watters because he personally accomplished all of my surgical procedures since I have seen him. Dr. Watters is the absolute best IMHO!

I can’t praise Dr. Waters and those who work within his off ice enough. I know when I see Dr. Waters that he’ll answer any questions that I may have concerning my surgery. Dr. Waters did my last two surgeries and I knew that I was in good hands. My husband to was impressed by Dr.Waters and that’s saying a lot. When you call his office, the nurses and staff are very kind and helpful as well.
Dr.Waters has a stellar reputation and you couldn’t choose a better surgeon!

Dr. Watters did my hernia repair. I cannot say enough good things about the process. From first contact to my final follow up visit and everything in between with Dr. Watters was remarkable. Office visits, never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area or inside the room for my appointments. His professionalism put my mind at ease from the start. He and his staff explained he everything to me and if was truly a flawless process. Great communication! One of the best medical interactions I've experienced in my lifetime. If you're in need of abdominal surgery/hernia repair look no further. You'll be in great hands with Dr. Watters and his practice.

TRUST, ETHICS, SKILL and COMPASSION are some very pertinent words that any medical professional should always hold close to the vest. After working in the healthcare field for over 28 years, I have experienced the good, the bad and the unfortunately, the worst. Since moving to NC I no longer had all the right people to help guide my choice of competent medical providers, which is not a comfortable place to be.

Fortunately for me I had a phone conversation with a woman at Duke Raleigh who recommended Dr. Christopher Watters over the surgeon who was previously chosen for me by the ED Physician. The staff in Dr. Watters office were very organized, accommodating and completely transparent, I was very impressed. More importantly my initial interaction with Dr. Watters was a personable one, his assessment instilled in me a high level of confidence that I was in good hands. The surgery went very well, I had less swelling afterwards than expected which I attribute to the work of a highly skilled surgeon.

I am grateful for having Dr. Watters and his staff with me through this, any surgical procedure is a BIG DEAL and can potentially be a life changing event, I am very pleased to be back to my normal self again.

On July 19th Dr. Watters repaired my fairly large hernia. The preparation with Ginny was very thorough staring a week prior to the procedure. The operation went well as expected and was done exactly on time. Again Ginny was back in the picture with follow up phone calls making sure I was recovering without any issues. I strongly recommend Dr. Watters and his team who did a great job.

Dr. Christopher Watters performed my hernia repair on May 7, 2015. I was totally recovered from the surgery within a month. It was a total success!

I noticed my symptom of hernia in the summer of 2012. While recognizing the importance of early repair, I have delayed my hernia repair until it grew in size and became unmanageable by using the hernia belt. My hesitation was not on the surgery itself. My concern was the slow recovery from surgery for older person (I am now 84 years).

In all, I am very pleased with the services of Dr. Watters and his staff from the initial consultation, scheduling for surgery, surgery procedures, and post-surgery consultations. I appreciate very much Dr. Watters' help to correct my hernia problem.

I highly recommend Dr. Watters to any one in needs of a general surgeon.
