Dr. Board performed my strabismus surgery and I went through the process of having eye surgery with zero results. It appeared I was basically opened up and nothing was done. As someone living with strabismus and having the hopes to finally have it corrected, it left me with emotional and physical scars and feeling hopeless. I would later move to CA and go to Shiley Eye Center in San Diego, where the doctor was personally upset and offended about what was done to me. He performed another surgery and corrected my strabismus. He also said it was very obvious what needed to be done once he opened me up and that it should've been very obvious to the previous surgeon as well.

Dr. Board and his staff have always been patient and caring with my son. My son needed glasses just before age two and after having a bad experience at another pediatric ophthalmologist's office, I called Dr. Board's office for another opinion. Before we were even established patients, he took time out of his day to speak with me personally to explain other possibilities. I knew right then that he was the doctor for us. My son has become very comfortable with him and I always know we're in good hands with him and his technicians.

My daughter told us she needed glasses because she couldn't see the board very well at school. It was a Saturday, so my husband took her to his eye doctor and they prescribed her bifocals. She was only in 2nd grade, and I felt she should be seen by a pediatric ophthalmologist, so we made an appointment with Dr. Board. After the exam, he had her leave the room and told me that she had perfect vision. We later found out that she wanted glasses because her best friend wore them! I was so grateful that Dr. Board knew how to work with children and he even congratulated her on her excellent vision.

Dr. Board was recommended by my pediatrician years ago when my son needed minor eye surgery. He was wonderful with my son and with me - the anxious mother. Both of my children still see him for their eye exams. He is wonderful and I wish I could use him as my doctor too!

I noticed an issue with my daughters eyes early on at about age 2. Dr. Board became her doctor and from a scale 1-10...the service was a 10 every visit. He performed surgery on her eyes about a month ago and since then, I have noticed a very big difference in the alignment of her eyes which was the issue. His staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend!!

Excellent experience, Dr. Board is fantastic with children. My 20 month old daughter was having vision problems and he was able to set her up with glasses that have helped correct her vision. She wakes up every morning asking for her glasses.

Dr. Board is said to be a specialist. He is the most impersonal specialist I have ever met. He would not acknowledge my daughter and treat her like a human. He spoke coldly and presented surgery as though there were no other choices or options. Even if that is the case there are ways to speak to a patient. Not to mention holistic treatment. I am not sure if he has succumbed to only getting money from surgeries or a holier than though attitude or even the complications of insurance dictating a physicians practice but come on. If he is so burned out then he should retire. If he is that behind on bedside manners; then retire. We will never go back and we will never give a referral to him. This review does not reflect on the office staff who are kind and supportive.

Dr. Board was recommended by my child's pediatrician. It was the worst experience I have ever had with ANY medical professional! The staff was dismissive and were not friendly but I can tolerate that from staff if the doctor is good. However, Dr. Board himself was very dismissive and just brushed off my explanation of my child's situation. His goal seemed to be to get us out as fast as possible and just collect his fee. I will NEVER see him again and I will be providing feedback to my child's pediatrician.
